A bridge can be used to replace a missing tooth or teeth to create a natural and healthy appearance.

They are permanently fixed to adjacent teeth and in most instances will look, feel and function like normal teeth. They are constructed from either zirconia (white), metal substructure and porcelain (white) or gold.

When is a bridge suitable?

A bridge may be suitable to replace a missing tooth once the neighbouring teeth have been assessed. These adjacent teeth act as support and the missing tooth is cemented to them. This missing tooth is customised to have the same shape, shade and size as your existing teeth such that it is not noticeable.

What steps are involved in the treatment?

At the initial visit, it may be necessary to prepare the neighbouring tooth and at this stage, we would take a digital scan or impression to transfer the information to our dental laboratory. We would also take a series of photographs to help us determine the correct shade of your teeth to provide you with a matching replacement.

This prescription is then sent to our dental technician in Taunton who will fabricate a bespoke bridge for yourself which will blend into your smile seamlessly.
