Kate graduated from Leeds Dental Institute in 1987 where she was awarded the Watsman Prize for clinical dentistry and a merit award in Orthodontics.

She went on to work as a Senior House Officer (SHO) in maxillofacial surgery at Kings Mill Hospital, Nottinghamshire and The Royal Hallamshire Hospital in Sheffield. During this period she was accepted as a Dental Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons in Glasgow. After a brief spell working in General Dental Practice Kate then embarked upon Specialist training in Orthodontics which led to Membership in Orthodontics with the Royal College of Surgeons in London and a Masters degree in Orthodontics at Leeds. Kate then moved to Gloucestershire where she started work at Gloucestershire Royal Hospital, Cheltenham General Hospital and in the Community Service before focusing on specialist practice.

Challenges in life which she has risen to since; include learning to sail and gaining her Private Pilot’s Licence. Nowadays however, she prefers to spend time with her family and keep her feet firmly on the ground in a garden full of weeds.

Kate’s love of orthodontics continues to give her huge satisfaction in both the intellectual challenge and the chance to spend time with her patients, some of whom arrive as friends, many more who leave as friends.
